Description of Fault code P0405

EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) VALVE POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT LOW VOLTAGE

Possible failuer P0405

• EGR valve position sensor malfunction
• EGR valve position sensor signal line short to ground
• EGR valve position sensor reference power line open

Diagnostic Procedure using AutoHex II Scan Tool

• Low output signal voltage of EGR valve position sensor is detected during predetermined duration.

Test Conditions using AutoHex tester

• Engine running.

Clear Fault codes Conditions

• Low output signal voltage of EGR valve position sensor is detected during predetermined duration.

MIL Status

• Check Engine Light ON
