Description of Fault code P0406

EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) VALVE POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT HIGH VOLTAGE

Possible failuer P0406

• EGR valve position sensor malfunction.
• EGR valve position sensor signal line short to reference voltage or open.
• EGR valve position sensor ground line open.

Diagnostic Procedure using AutoHex II Scan Tool

• High output signal voltage of EGR valve position sensor is detected during predetermined duration.

Test Conditions using AutoHex tester

• Engine running.

Clear Fault codes Conditions

• High output signal voltage of EGR valve position sensor is detected during predetermined duration.

• Check Engine Light ON
