Description of Fault code P0402

EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) FLOW EXCESSIVE DETECTED

Possible failuer P0402

• EGR valve failure
• Intake Air piping choke or leakage
• Air Flow sensor shifting

Diagnostic Procedure using AutoHex II Scan Tool

• Excessive deviation between target amount of new air and amount of active new air is detected during 15 seconds and more.

Test Conditions using AutoHex tester

• Engine running more than 2 seconds from engine start.
• Not establish long idling judgment (less than 920rpm and more than 120sec)
• Not executing DPF REGENERATION
• ECT1 ≥ 76 ºC
• IAT1 ≥ 20 ºC

Clear Fault codes Conditions

• Excessive deviation between target amount of new air and amount of active new air is detected during 15 seconds and more.

MIL Status

• Check Engine Light ON
