Description of Fault code P245D

EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) COOLER BYPASS CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE CIRCUIT SHORTED TO POWER

Possible failuer P245D

• EGR Cooler Bypass valve actuator (Short to power, Electromagnetic Solenoid short)
• EGR Cooler Bypass valve actuator control harness (Short to power between Engine Control Module (ECM) and actuator)
• Engine Control Module (ECM) internal diagnostic circuit failure

Diagnostic Procedure using AutoHex II Scan Tool

• The EGR Cooler Bypass valve actuator control current value is detected by 2.2A or more in the minimum, or 3.8A or more in the maximum for a set period of time.

Test Conditions using AutoHex tester

• Continuously

• The EGR Cooler Bypass valve actuator control current value is detected by 2.2A or more in the minimum, or 3.8A or more in the maximum for a set period of time.

MIL Status

• Check Engine Light ON
