Description of Fault code P1042

NO.2 INJECTOR CIRCUIT SHORTED

Possible failuer P1042

• Injector No.2 low side harness (Short to power, short to ground)
• Injector No.2 harness (Between high side and low side short)
• Injector No.2 (Internal short)
• Engine Control Module (ECM) internal failure (Internal short)

Diagnostic Procedure using AutoHex II Scan Tool

• When the injector drives, the abnormal pattern of the voltage and the current flow is detected by the injector drive LSI (the Engine Control Module (ECM) internal) for a set period of time.

Test Conditions using AutoHex tester

• Engine running.
• Once each Cam Revolution

Clear Fault codes Conditions

• When the injector drives, the abnormal pattern of the voltage and the current flow is detected by the injector drive LSI (the Engine Control Module (ECM) internal) for a set period of time.

MIL Status

• Check Engine Light ON
