Description of Fault code P0340

CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSOR NO SIGNAL

Possible failuer P0340

• Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor
• Camshaft Position Sensor harness (Open, short)
• Camshaft Position Sensor VCC harness (Open)
• Camshaft Position Sensor ground harness (Open)

Diagnostic Procedure using AutoHex II Scan Tool

• When the Crankshaft Position Sensor is normal, no signals from the Camshaft Position Sensor are detected more than the specified time for a set period of time.

Test Conditions using AutoHex tester

• No error for the Crankshaft Sensor
• Ne > 670 rpm
• The corresponding period of the Crankshaft and the Camshaft are normal

Clear Fault codes Conditions

• When the Crankshaft Position Sensor is normal, no signals from the Camshaft Position Sensor are detected more than the specified time for a set period of time.

MIL Status

• Check Engine Light ON
