OBD II Fault Code P0053 :

Description of Fault code P0053

A/F SENSOR HEATER RESISTANCE MALFUNCTION

Possible failuer P0053

  • A/F sensor malfunction.

Diagnostic Procedure using AutoHex II Scan Tool

  • A/F sensor heater temperature does not reach about 720 ºC even though A/F sensor heater is energized during 60 seconds and more.

Test Conditions using AutoHex tester

  • Engine running.
  • A/F SENSOR HEATER TEMPERATURE > 680 ºC or A/F SENSOR DUTY ≥ 98%
  • BATTERY voltage ≥ 10.7V

Clear Fault codes Conditions

  • A/F sensor heater temperature does not reach about 720 ºC even though A/F sensor heater is energized during 60 seconds and more.

MIL Status

  • Check Engine Light ON
